How to Measure for an Outside Measurement

Outside Mounted Width
If your window is not framed, measure the exact width of the window.
If your window is framed/trimmed, measure from one outside edge of the frame/trim to the outside edge of the other side.

Note: SolarChoice Heat will add 6” to your total width measurements (3” on each side) to allow for outside mount privacy and light control. PLEASE DO NOT ADD ADDITIONAL INCHES TO YOUR MEASUREMENTS. Again, we’ll do that for you.

Outside Mounted Height
Measure the height from 2” above to 2” below the window regardless of whether your window is framed or not. If your window extends down to your floor (a sliding glass door, for example), measure from 2” above the window to the floor.

Note: Solar Choice Heat will deduct approximately ½” from height measurements for windows that extend to your floor. This deduction to the length will allow for easy opening and closing of your SolarChoice heaters. PLEASE DO NOT SUBTRACT ANY LENGTH FROM YOUR MEASUREMENTS. As with outside mount height measurements, we will make that adjustment for you.
